Installing DNS
Three ways to install DNS are available. You can install it through Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs; automatically as a part of the Active Directory install; or through scripting during the unattended installation of the server or by using sysocmgr.exe at any time.
Installing DNS is one of the required steps for a good implementation of the Active Directory (AD). Many, if not most, Active Directory installation problems can be traced back to an improperly installed or configured DNS. Most Active Directory/DNS problems occur as the result of not being able to find a Domain Controller (DC) or a service on a DC. If you cannot find a Kerberos KDC, you cannot authenticate.
