It would be great to pretend otherwise, but sometimes bad things happen to good DNS servers. Usually, the difficulty is in setting up the DNS, but occasionally DNS servers just need a checkup. It must be very clear that the best troubleshooting tool for virtually anything is a knowledgeable administrator who deeply understands the architecture of the protocols and tools he or she is using.
