Installing Software Through Group Policy
This is another feature of group policy that is not completely limited to group policy. You can use the Windows Installer Service to install software at the command line or through the Explorer, but the true power of this architecture becomes evident through group policy. With group policy, you can leverage the functionality of the Windows Installer Service to apply software en masse to as many clients as you choose. And you can do so with the same management investment it takes you to set up group policy for one machine or user.
