Playing Media

JMF player programs play audio and video media by routing it to speakers and monitors. These programs present VCR-like controls to give users the opportunity to control stream playback. In many cases, a user can fast forward and rewind media streams (in addition to starting and stopping).

Playing media streams requires players , which are objects created from classes that implement the Player interface. You can obtain a player by calling one of Manager's createPlayer methods. Each player receives a media stream from a data source and renders it at precise moments in time.
