Introducing ASP.NET
ASP.NET is the next generation of powerful server-side scripting after ASP. It provides rich services to developers for building Web applications by using the .NET platform. Microsoft had originally planned for the release of ASP+, which was an improvement over ASP. With the release of the .NET technology, ASP+ was renamed as ASP.NET and released as part of Visual Studio .NET.
ASP.NET provides support for authoring applications by using the .NET framework. ASP.NET applications can be created using Visual Basic .NET, C#, or JScript .NET.
