Maintaining the Cache

To ensure efficient use of the cache, it is important to continuously maintain it. For example, to ensure that the cached files and directories are kept up to date, you must perform a consistency check of the files stored in the cache. Some of the maintenance tasks include:

• Checking for cache consistency

• Checking cached file system integrity

• Tuning the CacheFS

• Sizing the cache

Consistency checking is important so that you periodically update the file systems. To check consistency, CacheFS compares the current modification time to the pervious modification time.
