Monitoring CPU Usage

By monitoring CPU usage, you can identify the reasons for a system's slow performance. You can monitor CPU usage by using CPU counters, such as Idle, System, User, Nice, and so on. Solaris provides commands, such as mpstat and prstat, that you can use to obtain performance reports related to CPU usage.
