Network Management
Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) is a protocol that belongs to the TCP/IP protocol suite and is used for network management. SNMP operates from the Application layer (see Figure 12.1) of the TCP/IP reference model. SNMP, being an Application layer protocol, can be used for any hardware and software technology and is adopted as the standard for network management on the Internet.
