Components and Steps Involved in Name Resolution

Name resolution is the process of resolving the IP address to the corresponding host name and vice versa. There are different components, such as the resolver, the DNS servers, and zone files, which form a part of this process. The database is distributed across different computers and thus is distributed across a network. Dividing a database into logical groups makes it easy for administrators to maintain the database. In addition, the load of the DNS servers will be balanced. Moreover, if all the records are stored in a single database, searching for data would take a long time.
