The Media Objects Modules

There are seven media objects modules. The BasicMedia module, as its name implies, provides the basic functionality. The additional modules are MediaClipping, MediaClipMarkers, MediaParam, MediaAccessibility, MediaDescription, and BrushMedia.

The BasicMedia Module

The BasicMedia module provides a number of elements that, perhaps surprisingly, are semantically identical. A SMIL player gets the necessary information about the type of a media object not from the name of the media elements (which will be described in a moment) but from the value of the type attribute of the element, from information communicated by the server that serves the media object, or by some other means.
