The Semantic Web activity is run by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and is the W3C's current view on the future development of the World Wide Web. This section discusses some possible directions of the technology and its impact on everyday life.
W3C puts a lot of effort in the development of common standards, open protocols, and shared vocabularies, which will then become a foundation for the Semantic Web.
Currently, several interest and working groups are involved in the Semantic Web activity. They are
RDF Interest group— A forum designated to a discussion of RDF issues, applications, and so on. Both W3C members and nonmembers participate in this group.
