Creating Toolbar Buttons or Menu Items That Insert Pictures or Hyperlinks

For the first time, Word 2003 allows you to add menu items or toolbar buttons that can be used to insert pictures into your documents, or to load documents from live hyperlinks.

If you have an image you use repeatedly—for example, a logo—consider adding a toolbar command that will enter it with a single click. Similarly, if you have a commonly used document, you might want to create a button or menu command that opens it via a live hyperlink. You can hyperlink to documents on your hard disk or network, your corporate intranet, or even a public Web site.
