A-Clamp

metal spring clamp shaped like an “A”; always carry a few in different sizes

Additive Primary

the primary colors of light—red, green and blue—that can be added together to create white

AE (Automatic Exposure)

any of several camera modes in which the camera selects certain exposure settings based on other settings specified by the photographer

AE/AF Lock

the ability to lock exposure and/or focus so that a frame may be recomposed

AF-Assist Beam

a pattern of red lines emitted from a Speedlite in low light so that the camera can focus

air-cushioned stand

won’t collapse immediately when the bracket is opened thanks to an air valve; my favorite type of stand

Amateur

a person who works at something ...
