In this section of the book, you’ll learn about the mechanics of writing specifications with Spock. We’ll go from the basics of how to construct a specification through how assertions work in Spock, how a specification’s lifecycle behaves, on to interaction testing using mocks and stubs, and data-driven testing using parameters to apply the same tests to different data. By the end of the section, you should have a good idea of how to work with Spock and enough knowledge to go ahead and use it. Some of the topics in this section will be revisited later and explored in greater depth or from another angle.
