Plug-Ins

Plug-ins are small programs that expand the functionality of Mozilla. Plug-ins can be installed when Mozilla is installed. You can install additional plug-ins later as well.

Plug-ins typically are opened within Mozilla. For instance, the RealPlayer plug-in gives Mozilla the ability to play video clips inside the browser, not needing to open a separate application to play the clips. Other popular plug-ins are Macromedia Flash Player and Java.

Mozilla was probably installed when your Linux was installed. Some plug-ins are usually installed with it. You may have installed additional plug-ins since.
