Chapter 24
Editing Charts and Chart Templates
IN THIS CHAPTER
Editing graphs and charts
Applying templates to charts
In Chapter 13, you see how to make simple graphs and fancy graphs. This chapter explains how to edit those graphs to create a better visual representation of the information in the chart. This chapter also helps you learn how to showcase the most important information to your audience.
Although this chapter doesn’t cover every type of edit you can make to a chart, you can use the steps here as a baseline to explore additional editing options. When you get the basic idea of how to edit graphs using Chart Builder, you can continue to explore making edits on your own.
Chart Editor provides an easy-to-use environment for customizing charts and exploring data. You can quickly select and edit parts of a chart using toolbar menus, context menus, and toolbar options, and you can enter text directly into a chart.
To use Chart Editor, you select the element you want to modify and then use the Properties dialog to change the properties for the selected element. The tabs you see in the Properties dialog are based on your current selection, so they change depending on what you've selected.
