Using Enterprise Policy Management (EPM) Framework allows the DBA to extend the policy-based management that exists in SQL Server 2008 to control the application, evaluation, and creation of policies throughout the enterprise, including those from earlier versions of SQL product such as SQL 2000 and SQL 2005. EPM is a reporting solution that keeps track of the state in the enterprise against defined policies.
