Microsoft Access
Microsoft Access is a commercial desktop DBMS. Access is appropriate for managing small and medium-size databases. You can learn about Access at www.microsoft.com/office/access/.
This book covers Microsoft Access 2002. To determine which version of Access you are running, choose Help > About Microsoft Access.
In Access 2002, the default query mode is ANSI-89. You must enable ANSI-92 SQL query mode to run many of the examples in this book.
To enable ANSI-92 SQL query mode:
1. | Click Tools > Options to open the Options dialog box. |
2. | Click the Tables/Queries tab. |
3. | Select the This Database checkbox (Figure 1.1).
