Developing the Engagement Plan

In the previous chapter, we emphasized the need for purposeful communication, the alignment of communications with the intended project outcomes.

Communication is, by its very nature, a form of engagement, and underpins the approaches taken to engagement. This chapter addresses the issues that projects need to consider when they begin to actively engage with stakeholders. It focuses on how the understanding of stakeholders and their positions are translated into strategies for developing and sustaining successful stakeholder engagement.
