How do you make frog soup? If you begin with a live frog, you can’t just drop it into a pot of boiling water because it will jump out. You need to put the frog in a pan of room temperature water and raise the temperature of the water slowly enough, so the frog doesn’t notice it’s being cooked. As the water gradually heats up, the frog will sink into a serene stupor, exactly like one of us in a hot bath, and before long, with a smile on its face, it will unresistingly allow itself to be boiled to death.
