Protecting Cells

Since we are discussing hiding parts (such as rows and columns) of a spreadsheet, we should take a look at the Cell Protection feature provided by Calc. This feature allows you to hide certain parts of a spreadsheet and password-protect the action so that the information can only be “unhidden” by someone who knows the password. The Cell Protection feature is also a great way to actually protect certain parts of a spreadsheet from being overwritten during data entry. These protected cells basically become locked and will not allow the entry of new data.
