HOW STEVE JOBS DID IT
In 1989, the editors of Inc. announced that it took “about five minutes” to decide that the magazine’s Entrepreneur of the Decade would be Steven P. Jobs, co-founder of Apple Computer Inc.
Inc. sat down with the famously private Jobs, who at that time had been forced out of Apple and was leading his new computer company, NeXT Inc. The magazine noted that Jobs, then thirty-three, had a reputation as brash, abrasive, and rough-edged. “But he also had dreams, big dreams, and the peculiar ability to develop products that seemed to give us a glimpse of a bright and exciting future,” the editors wrote.
