There is a range of good email providers that offer a free service. I use Google’s gmail.com (and their business version google.com/apps includes a free version for up to ten users and allows you to use your own domain name) because of the good user interface and the excellent spam filtering. Microsoft have recently launched Outlook.com, which I haven’t yet tried.
A website will almost certainly be important for you – even if it’s just a place for customers to find out information about you.
