You might have put most of your efforts into dreaming about and planning for your business. As you begin designing your website, though, you see your ideas come to life for the first time. Creating that first site is exhilarating! You have to stay focused, though. Otherwise, you risk becoming distracted by bells and whistles that can waste your time and money and diminish the effectiveness of your site. One of the best ways to avoid a low-performing website is to design it with the user (your customer!) in mind. Taking this approach is part of designing for user experience (also referred to as UX).
