Chapter 2 introduced a triumvirate of categories that inform the choice and design of a startup program. Chapter 3 discussed models of startup programs in which the organization has similar goals to a financial investor (Circle 2 was “investor”). Change the startup stage (Circle 3 going from “late stage” to “early stage”) even when every other detail is the same, and you have a vastly different program—from venture fund to accelerator.
