6.6 Correlation Matrix
It is common in some fields to report the correlation between every available pair of numerical variables and arrange these in a table. The rows and columns of the table name the variables, and the cells of the table hold the correlations.
A table that shows all of the correlations among a collection of numerical variables is known as a correlation matrix. Correlation matrices are compact and convey a lot of information at a glance. They can be an efficient way to explore a large set of variables because they summarize the pairwise relationships.
