Management Team Oedema

Symptoms: Stiffness in decision-making and dreariness of interaction

Management team oedema (swelling) is a rather common disease. It has its roots in thoughtlessness and sheer goodness, which lead to a tendency to form the widest possible group of decision makers, representing all the different parts of the organization. The swelling is very easy to diagnose —like counting the fingers on one hand. Namely, the initial symptoms appear when the management team has more than seven members. If the group size goes over ten, management team oedema becomes a serious problem. Activities slow down, decision-making becomes stiff and going through the agenda only makes a scratch on the surface.
