Abstract

Selecting content for digitisation against defined and objective criteria offers a means of coordinating more effectively the totality of national provision. Trends in mass digitisation have potential to override such practice, but these are not yet sufficiently well advanced. Worldwide, content selection criteria have been very wide ranging and disparate. Nonetheless, an identifiable corpus of selection guidelines has gradually emerged.
