Don’t these little dinner groups smack of Tupperware parties, with ladies shrinking from the world and taking shelter in their kitchens? And how about that element of masturbatory self-validation? It’s easy to feel superior when entrenched among needy disciples, when everyone looks and sounds just like you.
Shouldn’t women be strutting their stuff on rostrums, staging events and declaring their authority, flaunting their strength in numbers? Whatever happened to the rallying cry?
