Chapter 18: Image Editing
I call this part of my work the “meditative part”, because the steps are largely the same when editing a photo session, so I can easily listen to music or an audiobook while doing the post-processing. If you are a real time saver, you can also download magazines and papers as podcasts or MP3s and do many things at once. My image editing workflow includes the follwing steps:
Converting RAW images (e.g. using Photoshop’s CameraRAW or Capture One by Phase One):

Adjust lightness

Increase contrast

Increase saturation

Remove chromatic aberrations, if necessary

Slight noise reduction, if necessary
Retouching:

Crop background (only in studio shots with white background)

Remove sensor spots, if necessary ...
