A.1  Glossary

  • action (Photoshop): saved workflow of Photoshop commands that can be triggered automatically and applied to several images in a row.

  • agency photography: field of photography, where final images are sold via an agency and mostly produced with regard to the pricing.

  • APIS: network of more than 250 media providers, used for image distribution in Europe; used by most stock agencies in Germany, current name is “i-picturemaxx”.

  • APS C sensor: image sensor in digital cameras with a size of about 22.5 x 15 mm.

  • assignment photography: photos created solely based on a customer’s order; opposite of stock photography.
