4. Buybacks on the Bayou

If you grew up in a small town, you know Teche Holdings (TSH).

My wife’s family hails from Acadiana, that part of Louisiana settled by French-speaking farmers and fishermen. When we visited there, I noticed lots of billboards for Teche Federal Bank. The bank (pronounced Tesh) is named after the beautiful Bayou Teche, which runs through the region. Upon returning home, I immediately went to my computer and learned it was a publicly traded company. At the time, we were looking for companies for our student research project, Burkenroad Reports.
