So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Two basic types of virtualization products are analyzed in this chapter—volume management software and SAN virtualization systems. SAN virtualization systems can be further classified as using either an in-band approach or an out-of-band approach.

Storage virtualization technology is the heart and soul of storage subsystem controllers. However, while storage subsystem controllers tend to have extremely powerful virtualization capabilities, they are not often referred to as being “virtualization” products, per se.
