Lately, I’ve been binging on audio. Podcasts mostly, from NPR, CBC, PRX, and a handful of creative independents. This is an intimate form of storytelling, very personal, one-on-one, direct. I listen on my iPhone, while jogging or on transit, or I tune in while driving or making dinner. I’ve come to feel a connection to these voices. I look forward to the stories they source, craft, and share.
Consumers, with infinite choice, will gravitate toward quality and relevance. Well-crafted audio that is local and meaningful, accessible where and when it’s desired, should always have a following. ...
