6 Conclusions

Change is difficult, that is how we started this book. Still, now we know that even if difficult, change can be guided, we can support people to embrace change and transform themselves to make innovation happen. We even know that this can happen with outside-the-box approaches, like asking people to write prospective stories.

Our research focus is on how storymaking affects employees’ behaviors in innovation initiatives. Through the action research and design science paradigms, we have sought to also provide relevant insights and methods on how to engage employees in actual transformation projects while utilizing a hybrid research methodology.
