Defining Canada's Future
Canada has been shaped by many forces over the long sweep of our history, but there are two forces in particular that have been extremely influential in defining our national character—our geography and our weather. Neither of these represents a choice we were free to make, but instead a deck of cards we were dealt and have had to master over time, learning as we went. This should put us in a much better position than most to meet the challenges of today as we can deploy the same ability to improvise that has allowed us to build this great land.
