Tears and Disappointment
In eastern Canada, hockey fans have been accustomed to the chronic underperformance of the Ottawa Senators and the Toronto Maple Leafs. Even the more traditionally successful Montreal Canadiens franchise has provided its own fans with a fair share of heartbreak and grief in recent years. It seems as though the General Managers of those organizations just can't seem to find and develop the right internal talent upon which to build a winner. To make matters worse, they are similarly unable to source the right free agents to augment the talent they have, and the net result is year after year of underperformance.
