Recently the term “analytics” has been popping up everywhere. Colleges and Universities are offering degrees and certificates in it. Employers, especially, are looking for anyone who has experience in analytics. Courses and workshops are abundant in analytics. But what exactly is analytics?

What Is Analytics?

We’ll tell you what analytics is not. It is not new. Analytics has been around for centuries. Two of Aristotle’s works on deductive reasoning written about 300 BCE is purported to have been called Prior Analytics and Posterior Analytics * .
