Social Style®

Perhaps the greatest unconscious diversity in most organizations has nothing to do with race or any other “ism” and is more related to operating Styles of the employees.

This appendix is an adaptation of a theory called SOCIAL STYLE, first created by David Merrill and Roger Reid. SOCIAL STYLE is a practical and simple way to explore how one interacts with another. The theory frames different operating Styles as a potentially huge diversity issue within organizations. It can be given alone, but it is most powerful as an add-on to another activity. It is incredibly useful when working with intact work teams, especially the ones that have been working together for a while.
