The SIPOC Model

SIPOC stands for supplier, input, process, output, customer.

The SIPOC model is a simple and practical way to analyze interactions between process steps or groups that support each other. The model not only frames connectivity and up and down stream processes but also identifies internal customer–supplier relationships within any organization.

People who supply others with materials, information, or processes often think they should be treated as the customer when they are clearly in a service mode.
