8 Requirements Tracking
Requirements in environmental compliance are not always limited to those stemming from environmental regulations put in place by regulatory agencies. There are often requirements associated with company-specific directives, industry standards, adopted best management practices, operational requirements, contractual requirements and memorandums of agreement, to name but a few examples. A cornerstone of any successful and sustainable environmental compliance program is the ability to identify and track requirements. From a regulatory compliance standpoint, a company’s ability to maintain compliance is directly related to their ability to track and stay current with all applicable requirements.
