The space program and NASA have shifted their focus and there is much confusion in the aerospace industry to determine what they should work on next. The United States is using foreign rockets to launch satellites, and private companies are fighting their way towards becoming the first commercial provider of space transportation, including tourism.

Being tangled up in these struggles finds American aerospace companies in a quandary attempting to redefine themselves. Companies that were once the primary industry in a community are now only supporting a small portion of the population.
