INFORMAL REWARD AND RECOGNITION PROGRAMS AT THE INDIVIDUAL LEVEL
As a result of all the above reasons, we ultimately developed a wide variety of informal and intangible rewards programs, with varying success, at the individual level. Many or most of these programs were not planned in advance; they evolved out of a small amount of formal research or, far more important, out of a discovery process we had to go through to implement and tweak reward programs that appealed to our people. Many of these programs emerged over time as the effort progressed.
