Chapter 7 How to Become a Strategic Listening Organization
IN PREVIOUS CHAPTERS of the book, we have shown that listening generally needs to be improved in organizations. Managers, coworkers, and organizational culture are some of the aspects highlighted as crucial for developing strategic listening. In this chapter, we take a holistic approach to organizing and structuring activities to create the right organizational conditions for strategic listening. First we start with a discussion of the problem of hoarding information with no intention to use it for organizational improvement and then continue with a presentation of a framework that can be used as a starting point for developing strategic listening.
