Several weeks later, Jane walked back into Tim’s office.
“Hi, Jane!”
“Hi,” Jane said. Once again she had that long look.
“What’s up?” Tim inquired.
“Well, I had those conversations with the Sustaining Sponsors, and things really seemed to go well. I certainly saw a spike in better work, yet now again it’s starting to slip. I was feeling so good, then many of the same things started happening. That is, action items started slipping.”
“Hmm,” said Tim, with an inquisitive look on his face. “So, what do you do when they are not getting done?”
“Well,” replied Jane, “I just make a mental note and ask them again the following week.”
“A mental note?” Tim asked.
“Yes, well, a check, and then I ask them again the following week.” ...
