Our approach to Strategy of Formulation Development relies heavily on the use of response surface methodology. Data is collected using an experimental design from which a model is developed to understand the formulation system and identify formulations that meet the objective of the study. In this chapter we discuss the fundamentals of good experimentation that enable the collection of good data.
