Concluding Remarks and Implications

The study of telecommunications operators in the UK and Sweden indicates strategy patterns that may occur in countries where deregulation has not developed very far. The other members of the European Union are examples of such countries. This study has not focused on every relevant factor that might have an impact on industry progress, however, it is likely that certain patterns will emerge in other countries. Based on a summary of the empirical findings of the present study, this chapter discusses the question of applicability of these findings to developments in other countries.
