The Effect of Education and Parenting on Quashing Talent

A large body of literature has long since posited that strengths orientation and positive psychology should begin early in a child’s life as a tenet of the official education system (e.g., White & Waters 2015; Seligman et al. 2009; Peterson 2006). To help you appreciate the important role schools have to play in developing the mindsets we carry around with us for years or even decades afterward, I will present a comparison of two schools I know rather well.
