Weakness Fixing—The Old, Conventional Assumptions
What will be essential, if you choose to adopt a strengths-based approach to your leadership and collaboration, is to switch your basic position from wherever it is now to a firm bee-glasses mindset of strengths orientation. The statistics and research findings are of little value if we are not prepared to make a genuine change in our lives. The problem here is that the phrase “mindset switch” is bandied around far too often these days, for my liking. People seem to think they need a mindset switch to lose a couple of pounds, change their Internet service provider, or buy a new pair of open shoes for the summer. Hogwash.
