What Is Talent

You may have noticed that I have used both the words “strength” and “talent” interchangeably in this book up until now. Actually, that has been slightly disingenuous of me. When we are dealing with positive psychology and all things cognitive/professional performance, then they should be considered very distinct phenomena.

Talents, in this context, can be thought of as inherent or genetically inherited characteristics or mental patterns, which make it simpler for us to learn and complete certain cognitive tasks.
